Baby B was my last newborn baby boy in 2011 and the last boy to be in my studio! I LOVE having newborns and babies come to my studio. I have so many props and accessories that I just can’t lug with me to client homes (even having a Mariner doesn’t allow enough room for everything!). I also have a nice savings in place for people that book a studio session for newborn portraits versus having them in their home.
A couple benefits: 1. heat control (I’d rather spike my heating bill than yours and with my studio being on a separate zone I’m able to get it nice and hot without having the rest of my house suffer, 2. light control, with having studio lights I’m able to have a much better consistency with even light and skin tone, good quality natural light is hard to come by in the winter months and some homes aren’t equipped with a room that gets excellent natural light. Natural light is always changing throughout the day which means constantly changing settings to compensate for this. 3. Variety, although I may look like I’m moving in with the array of things I bring to on-location settings (especially newborn sessions), it’s not even the tip of the iceberg in my prop stash!
On to the beautiful baby boy I captured just days old in my studio…he was so good to me 🙂
