Featured Product: Custom Whimsical Frames {Boston & South Shore Baby Studio Photographer}

I recently acquired a very large box of sample frames from Hardwood Frames Company. I LOOOVE them! They are very affordable, handmade,  and come in a variety of beautiful colors . A pretty add on to these frames are their moldings; wavy, and bull nose that you can mix and match to create a dimensional piece.  They also offer wavy whimsical frames which are adorable. You can add polka dots if your heart desires too!

Their whimsical frame bases come in 12 colors and the moldings are offered in 17 colors like Candy Apple, Daffodil Yellow, Boy Blue, Vanilla, etc…

A description from Hardwood Frames website:

“Our solid wood whimsical-style frames are hand painted and lightly distressed for a “shabby chic” look–no two frames are alike!  Your prints will look beautiful in these fun whimsical frames complete with option trim choices.

Frames are 4″ or 6″ wide and available in several popular sizes.  We also offer 2 or 3 opening frames in 5×5, 5×7 or 8×8.”

I’ll be ordering some samples of the wavy frames soon to display in my hallway to my studio but for now here’s a few I have hanging on the wall:

Grouping photos on your wall continued… North Easton MA Newborn & Baby Photographer}

On Friday I talked about an easy way to lay out a framed print or canvas gallery wrap display on your wall, if you missed it you can find it HERE. Below are some variations of framed prints and gallery wraps. I’ve also included a slideshow to show what a single 8×10 looks like displayed on a wall compared to a 30×40 size, etc…huge difference right? You don’t necessarily have to fill a wall with multiple prints, go big and you’re done, you can throw that measuring tape out the window!

How to lay out a grouping of portraits on your wall {Boston MA Baby Portrait Photographer}

Figuring out where to hang your framed photos or canvas gallery wraps can be very stressful. A lot of people put it off simply because they don’t really know where to start or if it will look how they visioned it. I sympathize with all of you…I’ve always stuck to the simple photos, either three  lined up along the wall or better yet, not grouping them at all! Grouping photos gives you the opportunity to have a variety of sizes in the same area  and they look amazing when they have a common theme or taken from the same photo session.

To help everyone out, I’ve figured out a way to lay out your photos on your wall with just some measuring and without any fuss. I originally thought of the trick I’ve read before when you cut out templates of card board but I thought that since I would need to actually tape them to the wall to see how they would look then why not subtract the cardboard (let’s be honest, do we all have a ton of this laying around not being used?) just use painters tape to outline them on the wall?!

All you need is:

measuring tape

painters tape

I simply laid the measuring tape out on the floor and starting tearing the painters tape to the sizes I wanted to lay out. For my example I’m going to hang 1 qty 24×36 canvas wrap and 2 qty 10×10 gallery wraps.

Now the photos above are just examples…I know they do not exactly look professional. This is just another way, an easy way for you to see a variety of size layouts on your wall. I probably would have measured 5 more times had these been the actual prints 🙂

I hope that helps you all and there will be a follow up post to this with some canvas gallery wrap grouping options!
