6 Month Baby S {Southern Mass Baby Photographer}

I have been photographing this family since Big Sis was a newborn and I’m honored to be capturing her baby sister S’s milestones too. This beautiful little chub was a joy to photography and it’s always nice to catch up with the family and see how everyone has been growing along the way!

2015: A year in review. {Boston Baby and Family Photographer}

This past year has been great and has also had its challenges. My first full year with my family of 3 and balancing a full time job along with my photography business has been challenging. At times I would get into a lull without any photo work and found myself doubting whether I was good enough to carry on with it. Sometimes throwing in the towel is just easier. I had the perfect excuse because it takes away time from my son and husband which is pretty valuable.

But I couldn’t. And my husband couldn’t let me succumb to self doubt either. The industry has grown so much, every year there are 10 new “professional” photographers trying to make it by offering insanely cheap sessions with digital images included. I know, I was there almost 5 years ago. I was also educated on how to make it and keep going by raising your prices along with your experience. Just like any trade, the longer you take to master it, the more your time and skill is worth. People who appreciate and respect my work will keep coming back and even if that is 10 people I’m okay with that, to a point. To the point where I need to continue to push myself to be better and learn more in an ever-changing industry. If I do that, I will have more clients and thus be successful to my satisfaction.

What am I trying to say? I could have and did think about giving up this year and I’m happy I decided not to. I love photography and the endless outlet it provides me. I’m a creative person, I need to have a creative outlet.

Here are some of the wonderful clients I had the pleasure and honor of photographing this past year…including my most handsomeness son 🙂

Here is to 2015, you were good to me and I’m looking forward to 2016. I wish all of you a healthy and happy 2016!

Miss C {Boston Children’s photographer}

I’m sure I’ve said it before but this is C and I’ve known her since she was just a baby in her Mom’s belly. The major benefit of photographing a child over a period of time is they get to know you and vice versa and it helps when they are in different stages of their childhood that they feel comfortable with someone capturing their personality. It can take a while for a child to warm up to a stranger, especially when that person is pointing something at their face, it can feel a little invasive. So without going completely off-topic, this sweet girl is growing up so fast! You can view her past session HERE. I was looking at her last session two years ago and I know that before I know it, my son will be her age! We have made a tradition of Sheep Pasture for her portraits over the years, I love shooting at Sheep Pasture in North Easton, I can always seem to find new places to use! I hope you enjoy her sneak peek!
